Superior Plug Production For Quality Lawn Grass Plugs From SeedlandHow Seedland and our grower Bethel Farms go to extensive lengths to provide our customers with high quality "success oriented"
grass plugs for your lawn or other areas.
The 3" x 3" Grass Lawn Plugs sold by Seedland are
produced in the Florida area under an extensive growing
program by one of the largest turf / sod growers in the USA
(Bethel Farms).
-- The grass plugs start with production in a regular sod field.
Once the field has matured sufficiently the sod is harvested
and brought into to the tray processing area.
At that time the sod is cut into 3" square plugs
and
placed in the plastic trays of 18 plugs each (1.5 sq.ft). The
trays are then returned to irrigation fields where thousands of
trays are maintained, mowed, watered and fertilized to encourage the
plugs to continue their growth to produce a high quality grass plug with a
WELL established root system (such as in picture above).

This extensive extra work and
cost results are worth it because the end result is a much
higher quality / healthy plug with a MUCH reduced risk of
having any losses or problems in achieving a successful lawn grass

 Once the plugs are fully matured they are placed
in boxes for shipment to our customers throughout the
warm-season grass growing areas of the USA -- with the exception of Zoysia grass plugs which will survive further north.

Important - Shipping Restrictions:
Due to state agricultural regulations on soils, we can not
ship our Grass Plugs to the following states:
Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, & Wyoming.
Due to shipping time constraints we do not ship any plugs outside USA mainland States.
(IE: Puerto Rico, Hawaii, Alaska, US Islands). There are no
restrictions on seeds shipped to these states.
Shipment Dates: Our grass plugs ship
seasonally* every Monday for all orders placed the previous week.
Orders must be placed by 10 am EST on Friday in order to ship the
following week. Occasionally shipments may be delayed due to weather issues (heavy rains result in plugs too wet to ship). Since we ship orders ASAP once they are placed, please
order only if you are ready to plant.
*Note: Seedland only ships Grass Plugs during the spring months of February, March, April,
and May.
